Donations for sleeping bags are being accepted at the Oxford County Community Health Centre. The initiative is for their Housing Stability program and helps those less fortunate in the community.
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford County Community Health Centre has put out a call to donate sleeping bags to help those less fortunate.
Housing Stability Outreach Worker Jade Davies says they've ran out of sleeping bags and are taking donations at the Health Centre. The initiative is for their Housing Stability program.
Davies explains why they want to help people.
"In January we go to Toronto and get ten sleeping bags and ten backpacks. And we are already out of sleeping bags and we were kind of being diligent on giving them out."
She says the sleeping bags will help those less fortunate.
"So it helps them keep them warm because, unfortunately there are people sleeping outside and we'd like to make it the most comfortable for them outside. If they choose not to go to the shelter."
The Oxford County Community Health Centre is on the second floor, located at 35 Metcalf St. It is open from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.
For the Tillsonburg and Ingersoll Centres, please call and make arrangements for pick up and drop off's.
