The Pittock Conservation Area is set for some big changes in the future with a very generous donation given to the city.
WOODSTOCK - Some new improvements are going to be done in the Pittock Conservation Area in Woodstock after a generous donation was given to council.
This is apart of the cities capital plan and will include improvements to services and facilities in the conservation area. Mr. Leslie along with Mrs. Leslie's donation will go a long way to help with the project. The work done wont be for the Friendly City and its residents but, from all over Southwestern Ontario to come see what's to offer in Pittock Conservation Area. Mayor of Woodstock, Trevor Birtch has more on the plans being worked on.
"We have been working on plans for opening up the north shore of Pittock and including free access to the day use park and eventually including a new trail so that people can go all the way around the reservoir."
The Mayor also has this to say on some improvements.
"In our capital plan we've identified a lot of improvements needed to the facilities, the washrooms, lighting, etc. And we have a sponsorship policy here in the Friendly City and we will be recognizing Mr. and Mrs. Leslie for their contribution."
The amount of the donation will be kept secret however, the donation was greatly appreciated by council. Tonight the City is officially accepting the generous sponsorship, donation and naming rights contribution from the Leslie family, which operates Timberland locally.
