The clocks will go back one hour on Sunday as Daylight Savings Time comes to an end.
WOODSTOCK - Daylight Savings Time is coming to an end for another year.
This weekend clocks will fall back one hour, meaning we lose an hour of daylight and gain an hour of sleep.
Public Information Coordinator with Woodstock Fire Department, Lisa Woods has this message for residents.
"We like to say, change the clocks, change the batteries. We want fresh batteries in case those alarms are needed, and the battery is required to make sure they sound."
It is also CO Awareness Week and checking the batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors is a good idea, as carbon monoxide is the silent killer.
Woods adds cooking could be something people need to be mindful of.
"So, if you are tired this weekend because you got up a little extra early, or went to bed a little extra late with the change, maybe it is a good idea to order out, or if you are going to be cooking to look while you cook."
Woods says cooking fires are the number one cause of house fires across Canada.
