A Woodstock man is in custody following an assault on Wilson Street Sunday
The canine unit was called in Sunday after a woman was assaulted on Norwich Ave in the City.
According to Woodstock Police, the 25 year old Woodstock woman was walking near the train tracks around 11:40 yesterday morning when she was approached by an unknown man who began assaulting the woman in the face repeatedly.
The man eventually took off east. The woman was taken to hospital but later released.
Police closed the tracks in the Wilson Street area for approximately 45 minutes as they looked for the man.
Facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm is 26 year old John Lebreton of Woodstock.
