An event is being held in Woodstock to raise awareness of An Anti-Human Trafficking Response Protocol.
OXFORD COUNTY - An Anti-Human Trafficking Response Protocol is in Oxford County.
The Domestic Abuse Resource Team is in partnership with many organizations in order to make sure the protocol does the job it is intended to do. Community Development Coordinator of DART, Amy Maddess explains.
"Yeah, and it's kind of a no wrong door idea. So, it's the idea that no matter what Health Center or agency you go to, you will still access all of the services that you should need."
DART member, Rubelyn Smith mentions there will be an event put on by DART and the Department of Justice.
"So, from May 11th to 17th, we're hosting a story walk designed to raise awareness about human trafficking and to introduce people, especially families and those new to Oxford County, to the local human Trafficking response protocol."
Smith says the protocol connects individuals wishing to exit exploitation with services and supports in Oxford County. It is a free event, and is a self-guided tour that follows a route downtown with stories of people who have gotten to safety after getting out of human trafficking.
