All curlers are welcome to Curl For Kids Sake, hosted by the Big Brothers Big Sisters' Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - The community in Ingersoll is invited out for Curl For Kids Sake.
The event is being putting on by Big Brothers Big Sisters' Ingersoll on February 2nd, located at the Ingersoll District Curling Club.
Development Coordinator Nicole Killaire says people can expect a fun-filled day.
"This is one of our three large annual fundraisers, so we're kicking off 2019 with the Curl For Kids Sake. It is a full day event so each team can expect two six-ended games, a hot lunch in between along with some trivia and games and then we end the day off with some prizes."
The event will also be happening in Tillsonburg the following week on February 9th. A total of 16 teams have been registered for so far, with eight teams registered in Ingersoll and eight teams signed up in Tillsonburg.
Killaire says this is a great cause to support and it gives curlers of all skill levels a chance to get out and have some fun.
"Curl For Kids Sake in particular is a great opportunity for people who maybe haven't curled before and have always wanted to try the sport to come out because it is just a fun atmosphere, not overly competitive. So if you haven't curled before, it's a great chance to not only support a great cause but also get out there and on the ice and learn a little more about curling."
Proceeds from the event will go towards the BBBS mentoring programs. To learn more on the event, register your team or make a donation visit sharethefun.org. You can also contact the BBBS office in Ingersoll at 519-485-1801.
