Players of all experience levels are invited to attend the events being held in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg
OXFORD COUNTY - Big Brothers Big Sisters is holding a Curl for Kids Sake.
On January 30th they will be holding an event in Tillsonburg, and Ingersoll will have their own on February 6th. Executive Director of BBBS Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and Area, Deb Landon, is still looking participants. "We're looking for teams to register and it is a great event because they get to play two six end games and it is a fun day. There is a top score prize but really it goes to the top fundraising team, we're more about having about fun then having a high score. This is a great way to get exposed to the event, and if you like curling it is a great way to introduce yourself and have fun at the same time and getting a group of your friends or co-workers out to raise funds for the agency."
Landon, is hopeful this will be the most successful event to date. "We really encourage inexperienced curlers to come out because it is about the fun and raising dollars for Big Brother Big Sisters because we serve over 200 kids per year. We raise our funds through our special events so this is one of our many events we just had our auction in November, that was very successful, so now we have our curling, and our bowling will be in May."
Those always wanting to try to curl will get their chance in 2016, and Landon explains why you are not going to want to miss these events. "We are pretty excited there are lots of door prizes, everyone walks away with a door prize. There are prizes for top fundraising teams, top scoring teams, and those are the fun ones even the lowest scoring team gets a nice little prize. We have got Leaf tickets donated again this year for the top overall individual fundraiser."
