The local organization is raising awareness and encouraging residents to report any kind of crime either online or by phone.
WOODSTOCK - It is Crime Stoppers Month in the Friendly City.
People can help out the community by sending anonymous reports to the local organization if they aren't comfortable calling the police.
Community Service Officer for the Woodstock Police, Shaylyn Jackson says you can report on any crime.
"If you have any information about any kind of ongoing crime, or stuff that's going on in the community that shouldn't be, you have the opportunity to connect with Crime Stoppers."
Jackson adds you can also earn money for helping out.
"Just by having information and sharing it you're able to earn up to $2,000.00 depending on how serious the crime is, how many arrests there are."
Crime Stoppers has been helpful to Woodstock. Crime Stoppers of Oxford County had received 368 tips in 2018. Since it began in 1991, Crime Stoppers of Oxford County has received over 10,000 tips and it has helped Woodstock Police and OPP seize over $7,000,000.00 in drugs.
