Woodstock Police will be conducting safety initiatives throughout the Friendly City during Crime Prevention Week.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police will be out in full force during Crime Prevention week.
Officers will doing cyber safety initiatives at high schools all week.
They will be handing out cell phone camera covers to students with the THINK message. Think asks you to consider if it’s truthful, hurtful, illegal, necessary, or kind before posting online.
They will also be promoting lock it or lose and doing radar in school zones. Students have created messaging on tickets and will present the tickets to drivers in the area of the schools. Some of the messages are telling drivers to slow down in their school zones.
Deputy Chief Darren Sweazey says that crime prevention and Community Policing is what we do.
"Woodstock Police Service believes that Ontario communities are among the safest in the world. That’s because police partner with community leaders, young people, businesses, and government to prevent crime from occurring."
