A tattoo artist and musician is helping youth and young adults in the area discover their creative passions.
WOODSTOCK - The Creative Outlets program is helping youth in the area discover their artistic passions.
Youth between the ages of 16 and 24 will be meeting at the Woodstock CMHA office for the 8 week program, created by musician and tattoo artist Aaron Allen
Allen says having a creative outlet always helped him during the tough times of his life and hopes it can help others as well.
"Writing songs always got me to the next day. No matter how bad my day was I would go in my room and write a song and I thought can I do something for these kids to show that if you have a passion you can get to the next day."
The program will have special guests stopping in throughout the program; ranging from a comedian to a Juno award winning record producer.
Allen hopes Creative Outlets will help a lot of people.
"We're going to try to have closed sessions and run them every 8 weeks if this is successful. We've already been contacted by London, St Thomas and Strathroy to do it there, we'd love to do it there but it's a volunteer thing too."
Although the first meeting was held on October 12th, Allen says if you speak with him you might still be able to enter the program. You can contact Aaron Allen by calling or texting his cellphone 519-630-0051 or sending him a message on the Creative Outlets Facebook Page.
