Southside Park will be hosting the free event, jam packed with all sorts of games, concessions and live bands. It runs from August 16th to 18th.
WOODSTOCK - This weekend marks the 18th anniversary of Cowapolooza.
Starting tomorrow, the community can head down to Southside Park to take part in different activities and enjoy the live entertainment.
Manager of Communications, Brad Janssen says this year's theme is a tribute the 50th anniversary the Woodstock concert.
"We invite everyone to come down and check out what we have to offer. And then on Friday night, we are featuring The Blues Brothers along with a Jerry Lee Lewis tribute and they're outstanding performers. They've done big venues such as Atlantic City, Las Vegas and so on."
Janssen says the following night will feature acts paying tribute to the first Woodstock concert, which will include CCR and Jimi Hendrix.
He adds there are a variety of activities to do including smash wrestling, plus different food trucks that will be in attendance.
He says he's most looking forward to seeing people come out and having a smile on their faces.
"This is one we really hang our hat on and really celebrate, and kind of a tongue and cheek celebrating. COW of course stands for City of Woodstock so Cowapolooza is kind of a natural, but just the happiness of the people that attend because it's free due to the sponsors and of course the City of Woodstock is something that's become really established and something to really look forward to. So I think that's what we get out of it, to celebrate Woodstock, our heritage and what we're bringing to the community with regard to events."
The event gets underway starting tomorrow at 9 am. It runs from August 16th to 18th.
