As of 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, parents and guardians will be able to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment for their kids between the ages of five and 11.
ONTARIO - Parents and guardians will be able to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment for their kids starting tomorrow.
Bookings will open for kids between the ages of five and 11 at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday November 23rd. Those who are currently four-years-old but will be turning five before the end of the year will also be able to get the shot.
Appointments will be scheduled as early as Thursday November 25th. Ontarians will be able to book through the province's COVID-19 vaccination portal as well as select pharmacies and primary care providers. Southwestern Public Health uses it's own COVID-19 vaccine booking portal along with the Middlesex-London Health Unit and you can access it online here.
Deputy Premier/Health Minister Christine Elliott says Health Canada approved a pediatric version of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Friday.
“Offering the protection of the vaccine to children aged five to 11 is a significant milestone in Ontario’s fight against COVID-19 in advance of the holiday season. We continue to encourage all Ontarians to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and their communities.”
Ontario is set to receive 1,076,000 doses of the pediatric Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine from the federal government.
