Oxford County continues to move towards 100 percent reusable energy.
OXFORD COUNTY - 100 percent reusable energy is becoming closer to reality for Oxford County.
An update to the 100 percent reusable energy plan has been approved by County Council.
Warden David Mayberry says the update is about aligning themselves with the World.
"Well basically it was sort of reconfiguring the plan so it meets the international ten building block process that's now being used by groups such as the World Future Council and that"
As some of the smaller plans moves forward, Council reminds the public that their help will make this a reality.
They hope that many members of the public becomes prosumers, meaning they both create as well as use their energy.
Mayberry dives more into the public becoming prosumers.
"That they become kind of prosumers. They both produce and and use their energy and that's going to be potential for a lot of net metering or virtual net metering projects where people produce their own, they feed it into the grid or they use it as they will."
They noted that some who may not be able to make energy can coordinate with their neighbours who can.
Over the next few months, Council hopes to bring up some of their bigger goals for the plan.
