After two terms, a Blandford-Blenheim Councillor is ready for the next step.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - A familiar face is running for Mayor of Blandford-Blenheim.
Councillor Mark Peterson has been on council for 2 terms now.
He says it was always planned to serve 2 terms before running for Mayor.
Recreation is a focus for him. He wants to add more recreation to help the youth and seniors of the town.
"I'm very big on recreation, I have been, my kids have been. One thing I've always said is; if you keep your kids in sports, you'll keep them out of the courts, so that's always been a little motivator for me."
His plans for recreation has to do more with the unconventional.
"I'd like to see us concentrate more on the non-traditional sporting things. Like we have a lot of rivers so I'd like to see us do some portage spots that people can go use"
Improving the roads of the Township is also on his to-do list.
