The Town of Tillsonburg will wait on filling an open seat on council.
TILLSONBURG -- The wait to fill a vacant seat on council for the Town of Tillsonburg will be a bit longer.
Dealing with the vacancy made it to the council agenda Monday, but was later deferred defer to the May 26th meeting.
So far, at least three individuals have expressed interest in filling the open spot on council -- including former Mayors Stephen Molnar and Brenda Carroll, and first runner up from the last election, Jim Van Rybroeck.
Council decided to delay its decision because one of the applicants, Stephen Molnar, was out of the country on vacation.
The vacancy on council opened up on May 2nd after Dave Beres became Tillsonburg's new Mayor.
Beres has said he'll keep the chair until the October election, when he'll run again for council.
