A woman was taken to hospital after she hit a tree in South Perth, police say there were extensive damages to the vehicle.
SOUTH PERTH - Police are reminding drivers about the dangers that come with speeding on the roads, after extensive damage was done to a vehicle that hit a tree.
Not long after 3:00 p.m., yesterday the lone occupant of the vehicle was travelling north on Perth Road 119 when it ended up in the ditch.
Perth County OPP, Perth County Paramedics and the Stratford Fire Department responded to the call. The female driver was taken to hospital for assessment.
The winter weather can add to the risks of speeding, bringing serious consequences especially if the road looks free of ice or snow. OPP say it's important to be mindful of black ice on the roads as looks can be deceiving.
Police recommend always ensuring there is ample distance between your vehicle and the one ahead. Looking in the direction you want to go is the key to safety in the event of a skid as well as slowly applying the brake while removing your foot from the accelerator.
If you spot anyone driving erratically or simply concerning behaviour, police advise calling them immediately to keep the roads safe for everyone.
