A local industrial company is set to expand in 2012. Cornell Welding & Fabricating is looking to purchase an additional 2-acres of land, joining its site at Juliana and Springbank in Woodstock. City Council will have to approve the sale later this week, and Woodstock Mayor Pat Sobeski says they'll be getting a discount on the land, because servicing is not required. "You take a look at how much servicing the city has to do and because we're adding to the back parcel, there's really no servicing to add. Again, it's a case of a good local company, that's been paying taxes and employing people for years and years. So, you take a look at those factors when determining the land price." Cornell employs about 40 people at its facility that's been in operation since 1967.
