The case of a local police officer charged with voyeurism and breach of trust continues to work its way through the courts in Waterloo. Christopher Knox, a Waterloo Region OPP Officer, saw his colleague convicted of Obstruction of Justice on Tuesday. 31-year-old Jeff Vongkhamphou, an 8-year OPP officer, received a suspended sentence, one year's probation and 100 hours of community service work. Vongkhamphou admitted to intentionally taking and getting rid of items out of the alleged locker of Knox including nude photos and a sex toy that were taken during police investigations. His lawyer says Vongkhamphou acted out of "blind loyalty" to Knox. Knox will be back in court on June 4th. Both are suspended with pay, pending their cases going before Police Services Act hearings.
