Drivers can soon expect delays at the Vansittart Ave bridge as construction progresses.
UPDATE: We now know when the 15 minute bridge closures will be taking place on the Vansittart Ave bridge in Woodstock.
They're scheduled for this Friday, so motorists and pedestrians will have to take alternate routes between the peak morning and afternoon commutes.
Bridge jacking will be taking place, so there will have to be another day with two 15 minute closers later in the project so the jacks can be lowered.

WOODSTOCK - Work is progressing well on the Vansittart Ave bridge.
With ongoing construction at the original Highway 59 bridge, drivers can expect more slowdowns later this month.
There will be two 15 minute delays in the span of one day, since contractors will begin bridge jacking and concrete pouring later this month. Drivers can also expect some road closures in the coming months.
While workers also continue to remove the existing sidewalk, curb, asphalt, and decking of the bridge, they will also work on installing access platforms and pedestrian hoarding beneath the bridge to protect the trail and its users.
The reconstruction of the bridge started in February this year. It will be ongoing until December 2024 to repair the existing structure and add a new wider deck to accommodate bike lanes and sidewalks.
This project was made possible in part thanks to funding from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF).
