Construction is up in Norwich

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Township of Norwich could be in for a record year when it comes to construction and permits. The Township brought in $50 million dollars in 2017 for permit offers and building fees, setting a record at that time.

NORWICH - It could be a banner year for construction and permits in Norwich Council this year despite everything that has gone on. 

2017 was the record setting year with $50 million into the township for offers for permits and building fees. 

Mayor Larry Martin says the sheer numbers are astounding.

"(In) 2017 we broke all records as far as prices of permits and despite COVID-19 in the Township of Norwich, I think right now we're approaching almost what we had in its entirety last year. So there is a very strong possibility we could surpass 2017."

Mayor Larry Martin says things are looking good because currently Norwich‘s total for so far this year equals all of last year.
