The road work on Oxford Road 16 should begin in May.
KINTORE - Oxford County Council has awarded the contract for a major construction project in Kintore.
At the last meeting, council decided to hire Oxford Civil Group Inc. to complete work on Oxford Road 16.
Deputy Warden Mark Peterson says a lot of road work needs to be done in the area.
"They're going to take the pavement up and replace it. Then they're going from the village boundaries to the 27th Line and they will go a lot of upgrades as far as widening the roads, I believe there are some culvert replacements and they will resurface it."
This is going to cost the county $4,382,218 including HST.
The work is scheduled to start in May and last until October.
