A new elevator at the Woodstock Community Complex will make things easier for users, but comes with a hefty price tag.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Community Complex will be getting a new elevator.
City Engineer Harold deHaan says this new elevator will be easier to operate than the current one.
"Most of the benefit is going to be for the users. Right now they have to find someone at the Complex to actually help them run it. So now they won't have to do that anymore, they can just go up to the elevator, press the button and go up to the next floor."
But deHaan adds this new elevator is not cheap.
"In total the project is just over $300,000 but we are getting $110,000 from the government as part of a grant program. It was a little more expensive than we originally anticipated."
It was still over budget so Woodstock City Council had to approve an additional $68,000 for the project.
The new elevator will hopefully be installed sometime this summer.
