Ingersoll Mayor Ted Comiskey earns a third term as the Mayor of Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll has decided to stick with Ted Comiskey as their Mayor.
Comiskey will serve another 4 years as Mayor starting in late November after beating Tom Holbrough and Tim Lobzun last night. He is extremely thankful for all of the support.
"We started out in 8 years ago with the Town facing some difficulties with it's finances, reserves and infrastructure and over the last 8 years we have done a phenomenal amount of work and I believe the Town of Ingersoll recognized that. We now have a Town that is able to stand on it's feet in terms of finances and certainly it is up and coming with industrial, residential, we have had phenomenal growth."
Comiskey says he is ready to face the challenges that will be present over the next four years.
"I think four major challenges certainly would be to complete a boundary adjustment and a recreational centre, that is badly needed. Seniors housing is another issue, going to door to door this year and talking with people, not that we weren't aware of it but just the impact that people were saying that we can't afford to lose our seniors, which we are right now, so somehow we have to convince developers to look at senior housing. The big elephant in the Town is the landfill, that we must stop and I am happy the Town has trusted that campaign with me to fight it and to make sure it doesn't happen, that's where my heart is and I think the Town knows where my heart is and that I want to make this Town the Hub of the earth and they have given me that opportunity again for the next 4 years."
Joining him on council is Fred Freeman, Michael Bowman, Rick Eus, Gord Lesser, Brian Petrie and Kristy Van Kooten-Bossence.
Voter turnout was 46 percent this year for the Town of Ingersoll.
