Coats for Kids is in full swing and in need of donations from the good people of Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Winter is coming and hundreds of kids and families in Oxford County are in need of some warm clothes.
Coats for Kids is in full swing and you can donate your old coats, mitts, hats and winter boats at several locations in the Friendly City. All of your donations will be given to people in need in our community and distributed through Operation Sharing. Organizer Sharon Maybee tells Heart FM they have a number of locations to drop off the coats including Sobey's, Heart FM, Giant Tiger, Oxford County Admin Building, St David's United Church and Church of Epiphany.
Maybee says the coats will be handed out on Friday November 18th from 10 am to 4pm and again from 6 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday November 19th from 9:00 am to noon at College Ave United Church at 22 Wilson Street.
"Well once they are donated, they are gathered all up and we have two sessions where we distribute them, we don't qualify the people who get the coats, you don't necessarily have to be on welfare or anything like that, we want to make sure than anyone who needs a coat or warm clothing is provided with them."
