Woodstock City Hall, other downtown buildings closed due to hydro vault damage
An early morning fire has forced the closure of City Hall, and surrounding buildings today.
Woodstock Fire responded to the scene of a hydro vault fire at Market Square early this morning, an underground vault with hydro servicing that runs power directly into City Hall, the Market Theatre and Museum.
Fire Crews extinguished the fire quickly, preventing the possibility of major damages to both buildings however hydro has been knocked out in that area.
The Market Theatre did take in some smoke, and crews have opened the windows to try and air it out, and added some deodorizer.
Woodstock Hydro crews are on scene today removing damaged equipment (photo) and will be making repairs.

City Hall, the Museum and some surrounding businesses in the same block will be closed today. Keep tuned to Heart FM for further updates on when the facilities are expected to re-open.
The Planning meeting scheduled for today will be held at 7:00 pm at the Oxford County Admin Building.
