WOODSTOCK - Operation Sharing's Christmas Place is open for shoppers starting tomorrow.
The local initiative helps families who are less fortunate in the community during the holiday season.
Committee member Heather Cowell says they opened for donations last month.
"When they come and shop, by invitation of course, they get to come shop and spen they also get an invitation for their kids to come back and shop."
Heart FM dropped off several brand new toys through the Stuff The Bus campaign last week. She adds Heart FM contributed to over 300 families last year.
Parents can shop tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, while kids have a chance to buy this Saturday.
Cowell says children will also be able to shop with the help of a personalized Elf. Kids will then have their gifts wrapped to take home with them.
"I think the best thing is they get to shop on their own so we're not just giving them a toy that is for that age and if their child really wants a specific toy, they get to get that for them. And when you're trying to pick between paying hydro that month or getting a gift for their kid, it makes some of us volunteers well up just seeing how happy they are being able to do that."
Parents can shop inside College Avenue Church, which is on the corner of Wilson and Peel Street. You're asked to use the Peel entrance and when you arrive at the registration desk, a photo ID, proof of address and an invitation is required.
Shopping hours through the week are from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.
