OXFORD COUNTY - The Medical Officer of Health for Southwestern Public Health says we might have to get creative this Christmas to connect with our family.
Dr. Joyce Lock points to Halloween as a way we can still celebrate a holiday during a pandemic.
"There are other ways to connect with our dear ones and our loved ones. We did such a great job with Halloween, I was just so impressed with the yard decorations and the funnels and chutes to get the candy down, so let's get our head together and get creative to have not only a great Christmas but a COVID safe one."
Dr. Lock says she doesn't think it would be wise to have the entire family over this Christmas, and advises everyone to keep the gathering small this year with immediate just your immediate family.
"I was at the grocery store and I saw the magazine, that says how to make a big Christmas brunch for your family and I thought, maybe that is not the message for this Christmas, we are going to have to try to keep Christmas a little bit smaller this year and we are going to have to get creative."
Right now we do not have any official guidelines on celebrating Christmas from the Province and a lot of it will depend on what the numbers are looking like a couple of weeks from now. Ontarios Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams is on record saying he wants to the see the entire Province in the green zone, so that we can celebrate the holiday with our families.
