An entire community is rallying behind a little boy to give him one last Christmas.
ST. GEORGE - The Community of St. George is celebrating Christmas this weekend.
Everyone in the community has rallied around 7 year old Evan Leversage who has been in and out of the hospital since he was 2 battling brain cancer. His tumour has gotten worse and doctors don't think he will make it to December. So the town is pulling out all the stops to provide Evan with one last Christmas. Owner of Le Petite Fleur Brandy King says everyone has come together to celebrate Christmas this weekend.
"And we had over 50 volunteers. We had a few different local businesses help out, offering treats for the volunteers, and materials for the streets. All kinds of community members stopping in with extra Christmas decor we could use to decorate Main Street. All the business on Main Street got on board and did their front windows. So it really looks like Christmas here right now. I don't think I've ever been prouder of this community, or being part of any community in my life, than I am of Saint George right now."
King says they do have a toy drive happening right now for Evan as well.
"Dragonfly Landscape Supply limited which is on Highway 24 very close to Saint George has set up a toy drive. So if you'd like to feel gifts for them, feel free to stop in there are drop something off. There is also a GoFundMe account that's been set up. Evan's mom is a single mom so I'm sure any support would be appreciated."
If you travel through the tiny community outside of Brantford you will notice plenty of homes with their Christmas decorations up. They will be carolling this weekend and having a Santa Claus Parade at 7 p.m. for Evan.
