Perth OPP are encouraging parents to talk to their kids about stranger safety after a child was approached by a man in Milverton
MILVERTON - Perth OPP are investigating after a child was approached by a stranger in Milverton.
Officers say the child was walking along Mill Street East at around 4:30pm Saturday when a male driver asked the kid if they wanted a ride. The child refused and the man drove off, heading eastbound.
He is described having tan skin with dark hair tucked back in a ponytail. He was wearing a black toque and a green long sleeve shirt at the time and was driving a dark coloured car with a dent in the back door and trunk area.
Anyone with information is being encouraged to reach out to Perth OPP or Crime Stoppers.
(Update August 3rd 8:16am) - Perth OPP have completed their investigation and have deemed the allegations unfounded. They have no concerns for public safety.
Officers are still encouraging parents to talk to their kids about stranger safety, explaining what they should do if they are ever approached by someone they don't know.
