Meteorologist Trudy Kidd says today's forecast is very dependent on location, so you should check the forecast if you have to go anywhere.
OXFORD COUNTY - We're experiencing a mixed bag of winter weather in Oxford County.
We got some snow this morning and Environment Canada is predicting about 15 to 25 milimetres of rain for this afternoon. This is all thanks to a Texas low that is bringing lots of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, and it's combined with the cold air from the north.
Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Trudy Kidd says the situation is not too bad in Oxford, but the same can't be said for the surrounding communities.
"Woodstock and Oxford County are actually surrounded by other alerts from Environment Canada. To the east and to the south there are rainfall warnings with up to 35 milimetres of rain expected, and to the north we have winter weather travel advisories because there is 5 to 10 centimetres expected."
Kidd adds you should check the forecast if you have to go anywhere today.
"The forecast is very dependent on location, so what you're getting is not necessarily what someone is getting to the north, east, south, or west of you. So if you're going somewhere, make sure you check the forecast to be prepared."
She adds Environment Canada is also monitoring another system that could bring a lot of snow to Oxford County Friday night.
