HALDIMAND/NORFOLK - Haldimand Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett is thrilled to have his wife back home after spending over a week in the hospital with COVID-19.
Both Toby and Cari Barrett tested positive for the virus earlier this month and have now both made full recoveries. Cari Barrett had to spend a week and a half in the hospital, including a week in the ICU with the virus.
Barrett wants to thank everyone for the positive messages during a difficult time.
"We can't begin to express our appreciation for all the messages of support and concern – thank you to you all! My positive test for the N501Y mutation of the UK B.1.1.7 variant was a result of picking up the virus just prior to my vaccination. Our experience reinforces our belief that we all must continue to be cautious because of this highly transmissible disease."
The Barrett family can now end their self isolation.
