The Ministry of Long-term Care has blocked admissions to the Caressant Care in Woodstock since January 25th.
WOODSTOCK - The Caressant Care in Woodstock is still not accepting new residents.
A recent report by the CBC shows the Ministry of Long-term Care has blocked admissions to the facility since January 25th. The move was done because of the seven murders that took place at Caressant Care while Elizabeth Wettlaufer was working as a nurse. The Ministry inspected the facility and found several violations.
In June Wettlaufer admitted to drugging and killing 7 residents while she worked in Woodstock. She also admitted to killing another patient at a long term care facility in London.
Some of the violations Caressant Care were cited for include failing to provide proper hygiene, problems with medication and failing to report suspected mistreatment of a resident.
The nursing home is still blocked from accepting new admissions at this time.
