Mail and parcel delivery has been paused for the duration of the Canada Post strike.
CANADA - A Canada Post strike is now underway.
About 55,000 postal workers hit the picket lines this morning after the Canadian Union of Postal Workers was unable to reach a deal with the Crown corporation.
Mail and parcel delivery has been paused for the strike, so customers will experience service disruptions as we start to approach the holiday season. Some post offices will also be closed during the job action.
The union has been in talks with Canada Post for close to a year now, fighting for fair wages, safer working conditions and other improvements. It issued a 72-hour strike notice earlier this week after little progress was being made.
