The United Way are making an impact with a laundry list of activities coming up.
WOODSTOCK - The United Way have been very busy over the past year with fundraising and events.
All events are to support the Friendly City and the people in need. Local Love Cards is just one of the highlighted fundraiser's and United Way Executive Director Kelly Gilson was in Wednesday to explain more about this event.
"Cutesy of the Oxford County Tim Hortons, we have $2 gift cards to give away on something like a postcard. And on the card it has all about how you can show your local love and how United Way does. So you can use these cards to treat a stranger, a co-worker, a customer, or whatever you'd like. You can get these cards by stopping by our office here in Woodstock."
Gilson then goes on and thanks all the organizations for supporting issues in our community.
"These are wonderful organizations doing great work in our community and willing to work with us on issues that can be ignored. Like poverty, homelessness lack of dental care and so much more."
Gilson also adds that it's important for everyone to get involved.
"Every single dollar counts. Every person has something that they might be able to offer and it's combined that those dollars really add up and we need them now more than ever."
