The OPP are warning businesses about a new scam where a man purchased gift cards for a 'fundraiser' using a fraudulent cheque.
THAMES CENTRE - OPP are warning about a new scam posing as a charity.
According to police a man wearing medical scrubs bought two $500 gift cards saying they were going to be used for a fundraiser for charity.
He paid for the cards using a cancer foundation cheque that police say was fraudulent.
This kind of scam has taken place in many areas of southern Ontario and police are warning business owners to be on the lookout and report any incidents.
