The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll is hosting an annual fundraiser once again, which has raised over 100 thousand dollars since it began in the 1970's.
INGERSOLL - The Kiwanis Club of Ingersoll is having their annual Urban Rural Night tomorrow night.
The event is at the Ingersoll District Memorial Arena, featuring a prime rib and pork dinner, baked potato, corn on the cob and more.
Sam Horton is one of the club's directors and he says proceeds will be put towards local projects in the community.
"This is the signature fundraiser for Kiwanis. This allows us to be able to do the things that we need to do in our community to assist those members and children in our community, and this is a means of us being able to do it financially."
Since it began in the early 1970s, this event has raised over $100,000.
He says it's a chance to bring the community together.
"This has been 50 plus years, it's a great meal. We have some of our experienced members that have been for many years barbecuing. It's a very slow-cooked prime rib and pork dinner, it is slow cooked for probably around eight hours, the meat, it's just fabulous. Plus, you get baked potatoes, fresh corn on the cob, salads and desserts. It's just a good small town welcoming."
Tickets cost $40.00 each and it is free for children. They can be bought from any Kiwanian member, at the door or at Young's Pharmacy and Lesser Brothers Jewellers. People will also receive a $20.00 tax receipt from their ticket.
The doors open for a social at 5:30pm, before dinner starts at 6:00 pm. It will run until 9:30 pm.
