Animal Control, Parking and Lawn maintenance make up the bulk of by-law enforcement in Zorra Township.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Lawn Maintenance was the number one call to by-law in Zorra Township in 2018.
By-law officers responded to 48 lawn maintenance calls last year, which is up from 21 in 2017. Zorra Mayor Marcus Ryan says most of the calls were about long grass.
"It's typically where somebody hasn't cut their grass for a couple of months in the Spring and Summer and it has gotten to the point, where it is not just long grass, thistles are growing and spreading all over the place and neighbours, typically in a residential area start to get concerned about animals and noxious weeds and things like that."
Ryan says staff provided the new council with a comprehensive look at bylaw calls over the past four years at their last council meeting.
"It was way to show council a look at the things we are dealing with on a regular basis and that we have been dealing with over the past four years."
Council was given a four year look at by-law calls at their last meeting. Most of the by-law calls in Zorra are for animal control, lawn maintenance and parking.
By-law officers responded to 117 calls in 2018, which is down from 127 in 2015. You can see a complete list of the calls online here.
