Ceremonies will be held across Brant County next year, including Paris and South Dumfries.
BRANT COUNTY - The voting polls are now open in Brant County to nominate your favourite athlete or team.
Residents in Brant County can nominate their local athletes for the 5th annual Brant County Sports Hall of Fame, where ceremonies will be held next year across four regions.
Coordinator of the Nomination Committee in the Community Services Department Lisa Campbell says getting people involved gives the community a sense of pride.
"It gives the community pride of who their athletes and builders of sport are from that community, and then when people come and visit all those community centres and areas they can see the wall of recognitions and who helped built those areas."
Review committees across four regions in the County of Brant will be taking votes until the end of the month. These regions will include Paris and South Dumfries.
And when it comes to deciding who gets voted in, she says who better than the people who live there.
"The community knows the people within their community who should be recognized, whether it's an individual, a team or a builder. They're the ones who know the history of the ares and who should be recognized."
The public will be allowed to vote until November 30th, and the nomination forms, criteria and policy is available on the County of Brant's website.
