It was a great weekend for everyone who participated in the Bowl for Kids Sake in Woodstock, Tillonsburg and Ingersoll.
It was a great weekend for the local Big Brothers Big Sisters who hosted their annual Bowl For Kids Sake.
In Woodstock they raised about $22,000 and for the Tillonsburg and Ingersoll District they raised about $37,500. Money is still trickling in and all of the money raised will go towards supporting the various programs offered by the charities. Case Worker and Fundraising and Marketing Assistant the Woodstock Big Brothers Big Sisters and District Kristen Ralph tells Heart FM they had a lot of fun with their Star Wars theme.
"A member of one of the Vuteq teams dressed up in a full Chewbacca costume, he was even on wooden stilts so he was very big and he could make the noise, I don't know if it was the costume making the noise or the person inside but he was making that perfect chewy growl."
Resource Coordinator in Ingersoll and Tillsonburg Heather Brecklemen says their theme was Mardi Gras and a lot of beads were handed out over the weekend.
"The ones that dressed up really enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun to come out with something different, everybody really enjoys getting beads for strikes, that's a lot of extra enthusiasm and the way they react to finally getting that first strike or just getting to come out and play for an hour and a half, it's a lot of fun."
