Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District have kicked off their Rock and Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser; and it's shaping up to be a successful year.
WOODSTOCK - If you stop by C&D Lanes over the next couple of days, you might spot the odd mullet or leather jacket.
That's because Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District kicked off their Bowl for Kids Sake fundraiser last night, with a rock and roll theme.
Executive Director Kristen Ralph says they have almost 50 teams signed up.
"We had moved it to May for the last two years and we saw a decline in registration. So we asked all of our past teams when they would prefer to see Bowl for Kids Sake happen everybody hoped that it would move back to February."
The fun began last night and it will continue tomorrow night and on Saturday. Ralph says they're hoping to raise $25,000 for their mentoring programs this year.
"We provide a responsible caring adult to the life of a child. Whether that's a group program, one to one mentoring program in the school in the community; it allows us to continue to offer those fantastic programs."
If you're not bowling but still want to help the cause; you can support one of the participants or drop a donation off at their Dundas Street office. You can also donate online.
