Three people have been charged with arson by negligence and disregard for human life after a house fire on Borden Street in Stratford last month. SPS also seized $24,000 in cannabis butter during the investigation.
STRATFORD - Three people have been arrested after a house fire on Borden Street in Stratford last month.
Four people were home when the blaze happened around 11:30 am on Tuesday February 23rd. Three occupants of the home were injured in the fire with non life threatening injuries.
Police say the fire was caused when butane was being used to extract oil from cannabis, to produce an item, commonly known as honey oil.
During the investigation into the fire, police seized 6.25 pounds of cannabis butter from the home, worth an estimated $24,000.
Three men who were home at the time of the blaze have been charged. Police did not release their names but did include the ages, they are 37, 38 and 42 years old and all from Stratford.
Charges include, Arson by Negligence, Arson disregard for Human Life, Alter the Chemical/Physical Properties of Cannabis by use of a solvent, Obtain Cannabis by any method or process (manufacturing, synthesis, altering properties).
