The Big Night Out was a Big Success for Big Brothers Big Sisters
WOODSTOCK - The Big Night Out Charity Ball raised over $73,000 For Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District.
Executive Director Diane Hatfield tells Heart FM hundreds of people came out to the event and were treated to great food, great music and a live performance from Ferguson Drive.
"It ran so smoothly, it couldn't have gone better, we had a special presentation honouring one of our matches who have been together for 45 years and wonderful entertainment, we had Ferguson Driver there along with our DJ Jamie from Powerhouse."
She adds all of the money raised at the event will go towards some of the programming offered by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
"It will go towards programming, much needed programming, we run a variety of programs as most people are now aware we run a variety of programs and that's where the money will go to. One of the programs we offer now is in school mentoring and also group programming in the schools, we have Game On"and Go Girls, those programs talk about healthy bodies and healthy minds and proper nutrition and exercise and the importance of it, so we give them the tools to hopefully go out and live a healthy lifestyle.
Hatfield notes they had a great success with their silent auction and the live auction which both brought in a lot of money for the charity.
