Sweaburg's Wee Little Library is celebrating it's third anniversary.
SWEABURG - The Wee Little Library in Sweaburg is planning a big celebration.
The project started through a partnership with the Sweaburg Lion's Club and Ritu's Convenience and Foodmart. The project started with only 50 books, but now boasts a collection of over 1 200 books with help from the community. Owner of Ritu's Convenience and Foodmart Bob Pate says they get people from communities as far away as Ingersoll, Paris, and even Simcoe coming in to donate books. Pate says in an age where almost anything can be found online, it's great to see people still enjoying a good book.
Through this program people are able to borrow books at no charge, and can even sit in the store to enjoy their finds. Since today is the Wee Little Library's third year anniversary, Pate will be giving away free ice cream all day to celebrate.
