TILLSONBURG - Bid for Kids Sake and the Battle of the Hors D'oeuvres is happening at the Lions Auditorium in Tillsonburg once again this year.
The annual charity auction raises money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County. Resource Development Coordinator Liz Wismer Van-Meer says it promises to be a tasty evening.
"So we have local restaurants, caterers, they come and battle for supremacy with the People's Choice and the Critic's choice. We lined up some guest judges, some chefs who are coming from the Toronto area, who are culinary arts professors, so they will have some real professional pallets with the judges this year."
Wismer Van-Meer says they will also have a large silent auction and a live auction happening on Friday November 22nd.
"We have a large silent auction and then we have our live auction as well. We have some amazing items that have been donated, including vacation time in Okanagan BC, and also to the East Coast, you can go just outside of Halifax for a week. Both of those were donated to us, along with some many other amazing items. We have some really great supporters who come back year after year to donate these items and we are very thankful for that, because we couldn't do what we do without those donations."
They are still looking for more items donated to the auctions. Tickets for the event cost $50, which includes the dinner and a ticket for the West Jet raffle draw. The evening is happening on Friday November 22nd at the Lions Auditorium in Tillsonburg. It promises to be a fun filled night in support of a great cause and BBBS is hoping to raise $40,000 this year, so they need your support.
