INGERSOLL - The owner of BarBurrito in Woodstock personally delivered 200 burritos to Alexandra Hospital yesterday.
Vinit made the delivery as party of COVID-19 fundraiser from BarBurrito Canada to provide meals to healthcare workers. For every $5 donated, a burrito will be delivered to a healthcare worker in a Canadian hospital. BarBurrito will also be matching every contribution up to $25,000 to reach the goal of delivering 10,000 meals across 50 hospitals.
You can find more details about the project online here. The $5 donation covers net food and labour costs. BarBurrito franchisees have already delivered 1500 burritos across Ontario and in Winnipeg.
They also delivered a heartfelt card that read:
It takes bravery to work long hours and be away from your loved ones. We hope this gesture shows you some of our gratitude to you, Canada's heroes. Thank you for protecting our community. Thank you for your selfless sacrifices today and every day. Thank you for the differences you make in countless lives. Thank you for everything you do!
