Successful weekend for Oxford Attack U12 Girls and U14 Boys
The Oxford Attack U12 Major Atom Girls had a successful weekend in Tillsonburg.
The Attack girls swept all three games in the friendly tournament, defeating local rivals Tillsonburg Tornadoes 48-11 and East Elgin Youth 41-14.
The girls then dominated the North Toronto Crazy Catz 47-9 in their final game of the day. The Attack girls are a first year O.B.A. team of local Grade 5 and 6 girls and have improved immensely from the start of the year.
Next up on their schedule is an exhibition game in London after March Break and their year-end provincial tournament in London in April.
For the Oxford Attack U14 Major Bantam Boys, the team won both games during a friendly tournament in Chatham over the weekend.
The Attack boys opened their two game set against the host Chatham-Kent Wildcats with a comfortable 44 – 31 victory. Callaghan Bullen had 10 points, Ben Jentz netted 5 points and Matthew Keith had 7 rebounds.
In their final game against the St. Thomas Shock, who defeated the Attack in two close games earlier this season, the boys were able to hold the Shock off and take the 44-35 victory. Brandon Cowan led the team with 18 points. Quinten Quackenbush-Schneider had 5 points and Liam Dempsey had 4 points in the win.
Next up for the Attack U14 boys is a home friendly tournament in Woodstock at Ecole Secondaire Notre Dame on Saturday March 22, 2014. The Attack play at 9:00 am, 10:30 am and 4:30 pm.
