The Oxford Attack major bantams, fresh off their silver medal performance in Ancaster were in Orangeville this past weekend for a three game friendly. The Attack won two games and lost one as they continue to show improved play. The Attack won their first game of the tournament by defeating the Dundas Dynamo 49-36. Derric Pollock played his best game of the year as he quarterbacked the Oxford press on his way to 20 points. Joshua Flanagan added 10 and Ben Mott 8 in the win. The Attack's next game was a tight back and forth match with the Orillia Lakers. The Attack pulled away late for a 47-42 win. Flanagan led the Attack offense with 17 points. Kurtis Rooke added 7 points in the win. Oxford ran out of steam in the final game dropping a 26-23 contest during a tight defensive struggle. Oxford struggled with their intensity in the opening half while playing their third game of the day. Orangeville, playing in their first game of the day built a 17-7 lead early. Oxford made a furious comeback late and had a shot to tie the game with one second remaining. Flanagan led the offense 9 points while Nick Keeley added 7. The player of the day for Oxford was Zac Naovarath who dominated defensive and offensive rebounds at moments during the day and continues to show improved touch around the basket. The major bantams are now off until the first weekend in April where they will be in Hamilton for the Blessed Sacrament tournament.
