It's for aspiring young artists in Oxford County, getting ready to attend an arts program in post-secondary school.
WOODSTOCK - Graduating high school students who are going into a post-secondary art program have a chance to receive a $1,000 scholarship!
The Woodstock Art Gallery Legacy Scholarship is awarded to a student who has received proof of acceptance and confirmation to attend a post-secondary institution. The program has to be in the field of arts such as graphic design, film, photography, electronic media, computer-generated arts, painting, printmaking, sculpture and fibre arts.
Students are asked to submit an online application which includes a list of extra-curricular activities, interests and volunteer work, a letter of acceptance from the post-secondary institution, letter of recommendation from a community member (excluding family or friends), a one page artist statement about your process and interest in pursuing studies in the arts, an applicant headshot, and a maximum of 10 digital images of your artwork. Finn McCallum, a graduate from H.B. Beal Secondary School in London, won the scholarship last year.
Applications are due on April 14th at 11:00 a.m.. You can find information regarding the full application details here.
