The Woodstock Christian School and IDCI are two of the featured schools at this years Youthquake at the Woodstock Art Gallery.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Art Gallery is hosting the 3rd annual YOUTHQUAKE on Wednesday.
The event is created by youth in our community, specifically for youth. The event starts at 5:00 p.m. and will feature an art elective exhibition from the Woodstock Christian School and musical performances from students at IDCI and the participants of the Sensory Exploration Arts Program through Deaf Blind Ontario have organized an experiential “Art in the Dark” workshop.
Former WCI student and WAG co-op student and musical arts performer Abbie Quinn is really excited about this years show.
“This is an event where you get to see all different types of art come together. It’s nice to see artworks from everybody around the community.”
The WAG is also celebrating the exhibition on view now in the Community Gallery: Art BEAT: The Ripple Effect, an art mentorship program that pairs an elementary and high school classes with a professional practicing artist respectively. This year grade 12 École Secondaire Catholique Notre-Dame students worked closely with Ingersoll professional photographer Trish Roberts and Algonquin P.S.’s grade 3 students created dry-point prints with Burford artist Kristine MacGregor.
