It's not going to look that different, but upgrades to a few alley ways downtown Woodstock will benefit the property owners. The three consecutive alleys east of Vansittart Ave will see reconstruction. New pavement, hydro distribution, storm sewer repairs, and sanitary repairs are included in the project. The City Engineer Harold deHaan says the project needs more funding; "it came in a little higher than we expected basically because of the tight working conditions, it raised the unit prices of what the contractors want because they're only going to be able to get in one truck at a time, it's going to be more labour intensive and more time taken to do the work". City Council approved an additional $125,000 to complete Phase 1. deHaan says the only change you'll notice is the new pavement.
